Starting a career in Auckland with one of New Zealand’s most noteworthy hairstylists Paul Serville, Deirdre then extended her knowledge with training in London as a makeup artist. Four years on and working in the west end production “The Phantom Of The Opera”, fashion shoots and music videos, the New Zealand film industry drew her home.

Deirdre worked on feature films such as The Piano, Desperate Remedies and Once Were Warriors. Television series like the iconic Hercules, many commercials and various photographic shoots. Deirdre was nominated for the ‘Best Makeup’ award at the New Zealand film awards in 2000. With an impressive list of celebrity clients that include Joan Collins, Linda Carter and Rachel Hunter, Deirdre Cowley’s warm personality and impressive expertise will quickly put you at ease.

Moving from Auckland in 2001 after 15 years experience in styling she is now running her own business in the beautiful surroundings of Auntsfield Estate Vineyard.
